The <strong>European Innovation Council<\/strong> (EIC) is a crucial component of this strategy, providing funding and support to the most innovative and forward-thinking businesses and entrepreneurs.<\/p><p>The EIC was established with the aim of bringing together the most innovative companies and entrepreneurs in the EU, supporting them through funding, networking, and other services. With a total budget of \u20ac10.1 billion, it operates through a variety of programs and initiatives, the most notable of which is the <strong>EIC Accelerator<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c52a06c separador-4-izq elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"c52a06c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAMME?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-796bdaa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"796bdaa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The EIC Accelerator is aimed at startups and SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) that have a <strong>highly innovative product or service <\/strong>with the potential to<strong> disrupt an existing market or create a new one<\/strong>. In particular, companies that are tackling major challenges and opportunities with innovative and <strong>high-impact solutions<\/strong>, and have the potential to create significant economic and societal value. In 2023, there were 7 targeted challenges within key strategic areas, described in detail in <a href=\"https:\/\/euro-funding.rwdesarrollos2.es\/en\/blog\/european-innovation-council-accelerator-challenges-2023\/\">this article<\/a>. In 2024, a new set of thematic priorities has been defined in the following areas:<\/p><ul><li>Human Centric Generative AI made in Europe<\/li><li>Enabling virtual worlds and augmented interaction in high-impact applications to support the realisation of Industry 5.0<\/li><li>Enabling the smart edge and quantum technology components<\/li><li>Food from precision fermentation and algae<\/li><li>Monoclonal antibody-based therapeutics for new variants of emerging viruses<\/li><li>Renewable energy sources and their whole value chain including materials development and recycling of components<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cf87b8d separador-4-izq elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"cf87b8d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What support can you receive?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a12322b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a12322b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The maximum grant amount for innovation activities (<a href=\"https:\/\/euro-funding.rwdesarrollos2.es\/en\/blog\/what-is-the-technology-maturity-scale-trl\/\">TRL<\/a> 5 to 8) is <strong>\u20ac2.5 million<\/strong>, with an additional possibility for equity investment of <strong>up to \u20ac15 million<\/strong> for market deployment actions.<\/p><p><strong>In 2024, there are two\u00a0funding options<\/strong> available: blended finance and grant only.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f68935a separador-4-izq elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f68935a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">One of the most competitive funding programmes<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e9d6d67 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e9d6d67\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The EIC Accelerator is indeed one of Europe&#8217;s most competitive funding programmes, with an <strong>average<\/strong> <strong>success rate of only 8%<\/strong>. It received over 6728 applications during the calls that were conducted in the period of 2021-23, with only 521 companies ultimately funded.<\/p><p>Projects across a wide range of topics and industries are eligible to apply. However, some areas have historically been a priority and received the most funding from the programme, mainly in the areas of healthcare, engineering and technology, energy, biotechnology, and ICT.<\/p><p>It is important to note that success in the programme is not solely determined by the statistics, as each application is evaluated on its own merit based on the criteria and funding priorities set by the European Commission.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
