NEW ACTION PLAN FOR THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

On 11 March, the European Commission published the new Action Plan for the Circular Economy<\/strong>, which presents new initiatives throughout the life cycle of products in order to modernise and transform our economy, while protecting the environment.<\/p>

Along the same lines, the European Union Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 was presented on 20 May<\/strong>, which consists of a comprehensive, systemic, ambitious and long-term plan to protect nature and reverse the degradation of ecosystems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Principal measures of the action plan for the circular economy<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Sustainable products will be the norm in the European Union<\/strong><\/p>

The Commission will propose legislation on Sustainable Product Policy so that products placed on the EU market are designed to last longer, are easier to re-use, repair and recycle, and incorporate recycled material as far as possible.<\/p>

Ensuring less waste<\/strong><\/p>

Avoiding waste altogether and transforming it into high-quality secondary resources that benefit from a well-functioning secondary raw materials market.<\/p>

Consumers will be more involved<\/strong><\/p>

They will have access to reliable information on issues such as reparability and durability of products to help them make environmentally sustainable decisions.<\/p>

Focus on the sectors that use the most resources and where the potential for circularity is high.<\/p>
